Нет, кризис был в 1961-м. 1959-й г. - кубинская революция, 1960-й - год Африки, 1961-й - Карибский кризис.

Хорошо, не буду спорить: в школе у нас и так дискуссия была о начале кризиса. Но 1962-й, октябрь теперь подтверждаю: у нас в пособии по ГИА 9 класса была опечатка.
