Echelon song
Author: glenn     11.08.06 00:17  Notify moderator

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help. I have a CD by the Red Army choir and it contains a wonderful song that is listed as "The Echelon Song". However I cannot find any information about this song, it's lyrics etc. Is it known by another title or is it just not a popular song? Many thanks for your attention. Great site...

The author of verses Has got hoarse (Joseph) Яковлевич Колычев (pseudonym). The pre-war name of a song " the Song about Voroshilov ", " Fighting Красноармейская ". The text of a song varied some times, but as a whole the maintenance remains too. Первоночальный the text of 1932! In 1939, apparently, a line " Also will not dry up winds " have replaced on " On бугре and in the wolf hole ". A song very good.

It's Russian name is "Эшелонная". It's authors are: Osip Kolychev - words; Alexander Alexandrov - music. According to "Slavim Pobedu Oktyabrya" (a songs book of 3 volumes) this song is from 1933.

Many thanks for your replies. I will now sit with my dictionary and try to translate the lyrics, although I think that, for some reason, this song is so emotional that it needs no translation. If you have any recommendations of other songs to listen to I am happy to receive your advice. If you want to email me feel free to do so. Once again thank you
